The Challenge
Ultra Electronics award winning range of Magicard printers has led the way in ID card printing producing data-encoded and biometric cards for the past 10 years. The Enduro was one the first to pioneer a plastic H frame enabling the central chassis to be manufactured from a single plastic part and to win the Queen’s Award for Innovation. In order to retain their competitive advantage Ultra Electronics asked the product development team at GX to value engineer the design or their competitively-priced range of printers.
The Solution
As one of the first printers to be manufactured, the Enduro recently underwent a mid life upgrade to bring it into line with the full Magicard range of products. Building upon the ergonomic chassis the design team at GX updated the colour and finish.
The Result
The Enduro has retained all its key features including the ability to upgrade from single-sided to double-sided printing, plus the ability to print a security watermark. Its aesthetic improvements ensure that it continues to make a smart addition to any commercial environment which needs access to print ID cards quickly.
