The Challenge
To design a compact low cost, entry level ID card colour printer with excellent print quality.
The Solution
GX has worked with Ultra Electronics for the past fourteen years, having developed the first “all plastic” printers for their range of Magicard printers. Building upon this ground breaking design, materials and manufacturing techniques the design engineering team at GX developed a smaller version that was light enough to be transported to different locations, yet compact enough to allowi it to sit on a counter or desktop.
The Pronto is the spiritual successor to the initial Alto and Opera ID card printers. Like the rest of the family it was designed for fast assembly, with the absolute minimum number of components. This product design enabled manufacture to be undertaken profitably in the UK.
The Result
Pronto is an easy to use, hand fed, low cost, colour ID card printer. It delivers print quality equalling that of far more expensive and sophisticated machines but in a compact and friendly package.
