With the growth in online sales continuing to rise, most consumers take for granted the packaging surrounding their product. Whether it be to protect a single purchase or an entire carton of goods, efficient and inexpensive packaging has become an essential part of modern life.
GX has recently helped a leading manufacturer of biodegradable packaging, Green Light Packaging, showcase two new products at the world’s principal packaging event, Interpack. Held only every three years in Dusseldorf, Interpack is the foremost show for the packaging industry attracting visitors from over 190 countries.
So that Green Light Packaging could launch their latest environmental void fill and cushion packaging machines, the design team at GX developed two working prototypes. Although only working models, GX design engineers have introduced several new features to improve the overall functionality and efficiency.
“The response at Interpack to the two working prototypes we developed has been good,” commented design director Gary Ross. “We will continue to work with Green Light to see these machines through to production. During our design process, we incorporated several features to benefit the manufacturing and assembly process.
