GX showcase their life science skills at MediWales Members’ Showcase

03 October 2016

MediWales is Wales’s life science network with 180 members all of whom are involved with advancing human life science in Wales. Amongst the members at their annual Members’ Showcase, to be held on October 4th, at the Novotel Cardiff, will be Welsh product design engineers GX.

For GX this is an opportunity to showcase some of the products that have designed and developed into viable commercial medical products incorporating life science technology. Amongst their products will be an innovative working prototype for a handheld plasma generator, which uses small amounts of plasma to heal wounds.

“Harnessing life science technology is not a new concept,” acknowledges managing director, Mark Helmich, “at GX we have designed many innovative medical products that rely upon life science technology for a number of years. In fact, one of the products we will be bringing to the Members’ Showcase, a urine analysis machine, has been one our lasting designs initially developed nearly 20 years ago.”

Mark will also be one of the speakers, after the opening address, at the Members’ Showcase. During his short talk he will review the design process a medical product goes through in order to take it from a conceptual idea into a commercially viable product.
